Welcome to Gite 'An Kay Ou',
welcome home!
We host you in Pontaix, a small village in the biovalley of the Drôme,
and more precisely in the Diois region.
You will find a peaceful and family environment as well as many activities within walking distance: a stone's throw from the Drôme river and pretty water points where you can recharge your batteries and swim, and many departures for walks and hikes, short or long according to your desires, summer and winter!
You will be accommodated in an 18th century house, freshly restored, in the heart of the village. The Gite 'An Kay Ou' is a personal self-renovation project, carried out in respect of the traditional habitats of the region with ecological materials, in particular stone, wood and lime.
OUR SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT
Equipment
Accommodations are equipped with a refrigerator, an oven, a hob, a microwave oven, a dishwasher, a towel dryer, a hair dryer and a washing machine.
Sheets and towels are provided.

Wifi and Ethernet sockets are available for surfing the web.
For the little ones
We offer some childcare equipment (cot, bassinet, deckchair, high chair) – do not hesitate to let us know your needs for your stay.
Outdoor spaces
A terrace for having a meal, having a nap or reading a book... Whatever the season, enjoy an exceptional panorama over the valley!
We take care of our environment
In an environmentally friendly approach, we provide you with shower gels/shampoos and ecological household products.
Compost
A composter awaits you in the garden to recycle your waste!
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Access to outdoor spaces
The house is made up of several levels, with cascading terraces giving you breathtaking views of the valley, but requiring to enjoy it to climb a few steps to access it.
Activities
A few km from the village, you can enjoy the activities offered by the Drôme in all seasons:
* Hiking, mountain biking, canoeing / kayaking, via ferrata, climbing, caving, paragliding, markets and outdoor entertainment in summer,
* Snowshoeing, crosscountry and downhill skiing, dog sledding in winter.
Parking
The gite is located in a small pedestrian alley – perfect for your tranquility. However, there is a parking lot about 200 meters away.
How to arrive?
Pontaix is located 57km from Valence-Ville station and 67km from Rhône Alpes Sud TGV station (Alixan), 12 km from Saillans station and 9.5km from Die station.
The village is also accessible by the D28 bus line.
PONTAIX AND ITS SURROUNDINGS
Over the seasons, the song of the cicadas and the aromas of lavender and thyme will give way to a landscape of orange and caramel hues, then to the immaculate white of the snow-capped peaks.
